Two good rides

Tom Burton is excited about the routes for the Everglades Snowbird Century ride on March 25, which will extend into the Everglades National Park where group rides have generally not been scheduled. This ride begins at the county's Fruit & Spice Park, and provides a fine chance to see some of the nicest scenery in South Florida. You can register already at Active.com, and glom onto one of the long-sleeve T-shirts.

Coming April 21 and 22 is the MS 150 Bike Tour, which brings together more than 2,000 cyclists to raise funds to end Multiple Sclerosis, the No. 1 disabling disease of young adults. Riders start on Saturday at Miami-Dade College in Kendall, stop for the night at John Pennecamp State Park on Key Largo, and return to campus on Sunday. Details are here.
