Building green good for bikers

Did you happen to read about this project being designed for Miami's Brickell Avenue financial district? According to Newsweek, the Brickell Financial Centre will include bicycle storage so that people working there will be encouraged to commute by bike. Read all about it here.

You can't really tell in this photo from Zakarin Public Relations, but the location is 600 Brickell Avenue, which will require the razing of an existing building just south of the Miami River. Prime location.

You have to admire the chutzpah of the developer, Foram Group, for coopting the neighborhood's name. My quick Web search just now turns up a couple of dozen references to the Brickell Financial Center -- that's er, not re -- for the corridor of banking, real estate and investment facilities along Brickell Avenue. Folks in these offices can afford GOOD bicycles!
