The Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department will soon begin improving the wastewater infrastructure along the Rickenbacker Causeway at Bear Cut.
This involves replacing the wastewater line on the Bear Cut Bridge with an underground pipe that will provide more reliable wastewater service for Key Biscayne, as well as protect the area’s environment.
Some traffic will be affected along Crandon Boulevard and the Rickenbacker Causeway. Parts of the shoulder of Crandon Boulevard will be closed for several weeks as segments of the pipe are assembled prior to the installation under Bear Cut. These closures will affect bicyclists, who are asked to exercise caution during the closures. Motorists are advised to watch out for bicyclists during this construction.
If you have any questions about the work, please call the Water and Sewer Department’s project managers, George L. Aguiar at 786-552-8138 or Mario Garcia at 786-552-8148.
