College improves bike connection

It's gratifying to see the speed with which Miami-Dade College adapted its parking lot to make the Homestead campus more bike-accessible. As the new stretch of the South Dade Trail was about to be dedicated in mid-December, Eric Tullberg of the county Bicycle-Pedestrian Advisory Committee noticed that parking patterns and a fence post made bicycle entry from the pathway problematic. On Sunday, Tullberg shared with me his thank-you to the college for resolving the matter.

Good going all around! It's just the kind of progress we can make in improving facilities if we bring needs to the attention of the right people.
