Miami adds some bike parking

I got a look at three new city-installed bike hitching posts on Coral Way today. They are the Miami Parking Authority's response to a suggestion that Green Mobility Network made to City Commissioner Marc Sarnoff's office. The idea is to repurpose parking meter posts when the meters are pulled out, providing secure bike parking close to shop doors. Art Noriega, executive director at the Parking Authority, quickly caught on and put his team to work. Here's hoping there will be many more in months to come.

This is a great example of adapting existing resources to fill a new need.
