David Henderson will teach Traffic Skills for Bicyclists on Sunday, Aug. 15, at Tropical Park Community Center, 7900 SW 40th St., Miami.  You'll ride safer and with more confidence if you complete the course, covering not only riding skills but traffic law, bike equipment, fixing a flat tire, and accident prevention.  The eight-hour course costs $35, including a student manual.

Space is limited, so reserve yours by writing or calling 305-375-1647.

Henderson is president of the Florida Bicycle Association and the bike-pedestrian coordinator for the Miami-Dade Metropolitan Planning Organization.

Is this a Metropolitan Planning Organization Public Program?

Is this a Florida Bicycle Association Private Corporation Program?
What is the Lease/Rental Fees/dollar amount for use of Miami Dade County Tropical Park Community Center by the Florida Bicycle Association Private Corporation?

The class was jointly announced by the Florida Bicycle Association, the Metropolitan Planning Organization and Florida's Share the Road program. The Florida Bicycle Association is a non-profit group representing bicyclists throughout the state. I would be surprised if the county charged anything for this use of the park. The class is certainly a worthwhile public service and the cost to take the class is reasonable.
