Teen pulls a 686-foot wheelie

So there's a kid from American Heritage school in Plantation who's earned a Guinness World Record on his mountain bike. Zach Hutelin reared up on the back wheel and coasted 686.25 feet. The crowd loved it. Read more at Sun-Sentinel.com. Nice going, Zach!

SW bike advocates honored

Congratulations to BikeWalkLee, selected by the Fort Myers News Press as a finalist for recognition as News Press heroes. The advocacy group has set a positive tone while educating officials in Southwest Florida about how to make streets safer for all users. Read more in the News Press editorial.

Signs mark M-Path Extension

I sighted M-Path and East Coast Greenway signs today where a new section of the trail crosses N. Kendall Drive. This is part of the M-Path Extension project, which also includes walk lights at Kendall and U.S 1 and at the Dadeland Boulevard crossing under the train platform a bit further south.
